Part 2 of the "Feels" triptych. This was inspired by a meme image of a french bulldog wrapped in a blue terrycloth blanket or some similar textile, side-eying the camera with an anxious look on its face. The photo was captioned "When I run out of spoons". In the disability community, "spoons" are basically a unit of energy (physical, mental, and emotional), something that can be given, lost, or re-gained. As someone with fibromyalgia and mental disorders, I have absolutely spent the day wrapped in my favorite blanket, unable to function as a normal human being. I gotta hope that I'll wake up the next day with more spoons. The concentric color stripes around the dog are in the transgender pride flag colors, but this isn't necessarily a queer art piece.
Painted with acrylic paint pens on a 4x6" canvas board.
