The May Queen

This poor girl has seen too much, but wow does she look beautiful even in her discomfort! Inspired by the visuals of the horror movie, Midsommar, but without the horror. You know the meme of someone placing a flower on a cats head, and the cat looking like it's seen the secrets of the universe? Maybe it's like that, maybe that's what she's experiencing. The blackberries have Wisdom.

It's fun making things in different shapes. I wanna make more circular things, cuz they make me have to approach my art in new ways. The circle is very conducive to a sunburst, like she's a goddess with a halo, and I really love that look. I really wanted to do something with gold metallic paint, because a friend got me new metallic markers after my gold marker gave its life for my illuminated crow.

I've provided the angled shot so you can 1) see the stars a little better, and 2) see how the stars wrap around the edge of the canvas, which I think is cool. I've done that many a time before, but you can't portray that with a scan. I'll probably keep the second photo up after I upload the (future) scan. Keep a lookout for that!
