This originally was going to be a gift for a beloved mentor before he left the art program I was in, but he ended up leaving more suddenly than expected and I never got to give it to him. He was a staunch anti-fascist and leftist activist, so everything here has meaning in that way.
This was done on a 16x20" canvas board and is my largest acrylic marker painting to date, so it was a little intimidating. However, I love how it came out, and it made me more confident in drawing/painting hands, that's for sure! The quote means a lot to me personally as well, and has informed a big part of how I live my life and make my art in the last year or so. For many reasons.
